Steve, one of the two Co-founders is from West Islip NY. Born in Astoria Queens, Steve moved to the area after a Christmas visit to his parent's home in Mesa in 1983. After several years of living back and forth between Denver and Phoenix, he settled permanently in 1998. With a background in Banking and Customer Service, he is currently and happily employed with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Arizona in the Federal Claims processing unit. Steve loves to cook, work out, relax and watch movies and you can nearly always find him out and about the city of Phoenix. He is currently single and enjoying the chance to do some self exploration. Steve has volunteered for many years with many different groups starting with the Colorado AIDS Project and was with the Rocky Mountain Empire for their 18th through 22nd reign. He believes that to volunteer is to be a part of the solution to help those who truly need it. "To me, to be a great person is to sacrifice your time to help others..."

Jennifer Carroll - Empress I
The Leather and Lace Legend of the Phoenix

Born in Killeen TX, the Arizona Courts Co-founder came to Phoenix 3 years ago with his career in student educational funding. Having received his BA from Howard Payne University, he has been involved with the court system for over 15 years and has been a driving force in organizations in both Texas and New England. Joe feels that volunteering is important because in many instances, federal agencies do not have the time, manpower or resources to help those who can no longer help themselves, that volunteers can take up the slack so that some do not get left out. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, hiking, biking and swimming. Mr. Kunkel, or Ms, Carroll, as the case may be, is currently single but would love to be in another relationship some day.

Tiffany Rose - Princess

Over the last 20 years or so of being an entertainer in the gay community, I’ve participated in many, many fundraisers. During my own stint as Miss Gay Glendale 1996/97, I did 3 fundraisers for AZ Body Positive at JC’s Fun One. In the course of this, I had met several more experienced queens that told me stories of being a part of the International Imperial Court System from when they lived in other cities.

During my time with this organization,we’ve raised money for Pediatric Aids for the Phoenix Children’s hospital, for Breast Cancer, for the gay youth of Arizona, and for AGAPE, a meal delivery service for people living with Aids. It has been a lot of hard work for the people involved in this group, even more than that, it has been fun! I have met some very wonderful new friends who have become part of my family. I have the opportunity to become reacquainted with friends from years past. The past nine months that my partner and I have been involved with the family of The Imperial Sovereign Court of Arizona have been very fulfilling for us. I am very proud to be a part of this family.

I grew up in Arizona and was introduced to the Court System back when Arizona had an Imperial Court 32 years ago and I helped with a lot of benefits then back stage. I moved to California in 1984 an got involved with the Imperial Court of San Jose, Ca. and found that the Imperial Court System was like a family who helped one another and did benefits for other Organizations and Individuals in need. I found this rewarding and a way to give back to the Community. Then I moved to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and by chance was invited to see how the Imperial Court of Fort Worth was like and totally enjoyed the friendliness of the people and decided to Join. I began doing Drag to perform and for 12 years put on shows and benefits for many Organizations and individuals to assist them in their needs. I became the Imperial Crown Princess for Life to the 16th Reign and carry that Title for Life. The Imperial Court System does not keep any of the money it raises for Charity and that was one of the main attractions for me and that I had a part in raising money to help others out and know that the monies went directly to that organization or individual.
